Just four and a half hours north of Ann Arbor, near
Alpena, Presque Isle, and Rogers City, lie some of the
best deep wrecks in the Great Lakes. Deep, cold fresh
water has preserved these shipwrecks with amazing detail
and clarity. These weekends are for Trimix divers with
recent Great Lakes experience.
The world’s best collection of wooden sailing and
steamer wrecks are found in the Great Lakes, and many of
those are beyond the recreational limit of 130 feet.
Note: For safety reasons and to ensure only qualified
divers are on these charters, any divers participating
on any technical diving charter need the approval of
Huron Scuba's Course Director.
On June 5, join the Huron Scuba Dive Team as we make two
dives on the wreck of the Dunderberg, which lies between
125 and 145 feet in depth. The charter departs Harbor
Beach at 8 am. Divers are required to be proficient in
their Deep Diver skills, and must provide cold water
equipment with redundancy (doubles, H-valve, or pony
bottle). Charter price $125 (cylinders, fills, &
equipment rentals additional).
For divers in our technical diver programs, or
certified technical divers, we have the best wrecks on
tap. Weather permitting, these trips go to wrecks off
Presque Isle (Florida 190 ft, Defiance 180 ft, Windiate
(composite photograph below) 175 ft, plus one other).
Wrecks may change due to weather and mooring lines.
Divers $345. Hotel stay not included in dive package
price.
