Rest, relaxation, AND fun for land-lovers as well as
divers. This trip has it all and is for anyone. We are
going sailing, sailing over the ocean blue. Live a
little, have adventures, and be a real live pirate as we
sail along the magnificent coast of Maine. Be free,
travel light…this is a non-dive trip. Cool other stuff
includes being able to learn about schooner handling,
wine-tasting sessions nightly, professional photography
coaching, and gourmet dining from dock to dock. Don’t
just go and see the "Tall Ships," this time be a part of
the Tall Ship! Next time you see a schooner in the Great
Lakes, you will understand how is was built and
operated. What is Jimmy Buffet talking about,
200-years too late? Nonsense. We found it! You will be
cruising aboard the oldest working wooden schooner in
the USA. Built in 1871, the Stephen Taber screams
magnificence. She shines. She stretches. She is one of
the most beautiful wooden schooners you will ever
see…above or below.
This
is truly your vacation. Do not worry about time. You can
have as much or as little activity as possible on this
4-day sailing excursion with a 2-day land extension
option. During the day, you can learn how to sail, take
photography lessons from a professional photographer,
learn about wine with professionally run wine tastings,
visit remote islands, bird watch, gaze at the seals,
porpoises, and whales playing in the water, or lay on
deck and read a book. Right before sun set, we will drop
anchor (yep, you can do that too) in a nice little cove
where some nights we’ll have slide shows from our new
photographers, live music, wine tasting, and dancing.
Merengue lessons will also be available! OR just have a
nice, quiet night star gazing. This trip is slightly on
the rugged side with strong elements of luxury. The
schooner is sail powered alone, so we move only with the
wind. The food is gourmet and cooked on a wood burning
stove or over an open fire. Cozy up to a lobster feast
on a deserted island. You will live like you have not
lived before, and you will love it.
