What better time to go down to Mexico for warm weather, clear water, and world class
snorkeling and drift diving? The Huron Scuba Dive Team
has made six trips to Cozumel (see an assortment of
photos from our most recent trip, or stop by the
shop to view the trip DVDs). Come enjoy the great walls,
abundance and variety of marine life, great visibility
(100’+), and easy drift diving. If you are a newcomer,
get ready to be thrilled!
This year, the Fiesta Americana Resort will be our host
for a week of great diving, relaxing, and exploring the best
of the island. Located on the waterfront near the south
end of the island, this resort has plenty of room for
divers - and for vacationers who want to relax and enjoy
a winter break!
There's lots to do on Cozumel when you're not diving.
For highlights of some of the recreational and cultural
offerings, see
www.CozumelParks.com.

Enjoy New Years with Huron Scuba’s Dive
Team. Experience for yourself why everyone raves
about Cozumel and its toasty, gin-clear waters full of
“BIG STUFF.” Cozumel, Mexico’s largest island, got its
name from the Mayan word for “Land of Swallows.” In
1961, Jacques Cousteau declared Cozumel one of the most
beautiful diving areas in the world. Since that day,
this tiny fishing community has been transformed into a
Caribbean diving mecca. With a National Marine Park
protecting most of its reefs, Cozumel boasts many larger
than usual grouper, tropical fishes, lobster, seahorses
and the indigenous Splendid Toadfish. In terms of diving
vacation value, Cozumel ranks among the best of the
Caribbean.

Fiesta Americana features multiple
swimming pools, restaurants, a beautiful beach club,
exercise room, and Dive House diving operations on-site.
Fiesta’s private white-powder sandy beach allows for
lounging in the tropical sun while scanning the
turquoise-blue hues of the Caribbean Sea. Vivid
land-based memories may also be created from eating
chips and salsa while drinking adult beverages at the
swim-up bar. Fiesta keeps the buffet meals coming with
great variety and abundance, including theme nights such
as Italian, Mexican, Japanese and others. And of course
our New Year’s Eve party will include a traditional
Piñata Bash.
Dive House, our chosen dive center, is located on the
beach in front of Fiesta. Dive House was chosen one of
Mexico’s best dive operators by the readers of Scuba
Diving Magazine in 2007. Some of the dives in Coz are
conducted while drifting, so you enter the water and
float along until the dive is over.
Most importantly, we love leading Huron Scuba’s New Year
adventures because we have a terrific group of people
coming with us year after year, making our holidays
especially enjoyable and relaxing.
